At Crown Jewel, Logan Paul stepped inside the ropes to wrestle his eighth match in WWE. He beat Rey Mysterio to clinch the WWE United States Championship on November 4, Saturday. That day, he not only won the belt but also millions of hearts.
During the match, Mysterio botched a move that could have resulted in him sustaining a grave injury. But thanks to Paul, he was saved from the scary fate. Fans and critics heaped praise on ‘The Maverick’ for saving the WWE Hall of Famer. However, a WWE legend has a completely different opinion about the incident.

During the latest edition of the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray pointed out that the wrestlers could have completely avoided the whole situation. The former WWE star criticized Paul for standing too far in the middle of the ring, which resulted in Mysterio almost getting injured while performing a dangerous mid-air move.
He said, “Logan Paul should have been in closer, to begin with. He was too far to the middle. ” Ray later added, “So Logan [Paul] did a great job making the save by stepping in by getting under Rey [Mysterio]. But [he] could have saved himself that trouble if he would have been a step closer to begin with.”

In all this, Ray didn’t forget to give ‘The Social Media Influencer’ his due credit for his vigilance and saving Mysterio just in time before he landed wrong and sustained an injury. If Paul hadn’t saved ‘The Master of 619’ then the latter would have hurt himself badly for sure.
Rey Mysterio owes Paul a thankyou
Mysterio is a high-flying acrobat with a natural, inbuilt springboard on his legs. For years now, he has been performing dangerous moves inside the squared circle without even breaking a sweat. But even veterans make mistakes, right? That’s what happened at Crown Jewel a few days ago.

During a spot in the match, Mysterio performed a moonsault, bouncing off the mid-rope. It was badly timed, and he almost cracked his neck while landing if Paul hadn’t saved him on time. ‘The YouTuber’ quickly shielded his opponent, throwing himself underneath and catching him in midair. This resulted in Mysterio not landing on his neck.
Paul then picked up his opponent and swung him onto the mat. ‘The Master of 619’ landing on his neck would have cost him probably months of no ring time, considering the history of neck injuries among pro wrestlers. There have been instances where an injury to the neck even caused wrestlers to retire in the past.
