The wrestling world may be seeing a big feud coming together as Seth Rollins could be getting an outside challenger soon. The rival in question is someone that Rollins has battled with before. However, the battle between Rollins and Will Ospreay wasn’t a wrestling one. Although it started with determining their supremacy in the wrestling world, it grew quickly, taking on many dimensions.

For now, we will take a look at how two random stars crossed paths and became enemies, only to never compete against each other. It can prove even more relevant than ever because WWE might have a surprise for us in stock.

In June 2019, Rollins faced Baron Corbin to defend his WWE Universal Championship at Stomping Grounds. Despite coming out of the bout as champion, Rollins found himself trying to defend his wrestling skills. In a fit of frustration, Rollins went on social media to call himself the greatest talent in the wrestling world. He even challenged some other pro wrestlers to prove him wrong. Will Ospreay volunteered by saying “I’m alive“.

The IGPW champion and the World Heavyweight Champion then went on to have a long virtual feud. Their rivalry didn’t stick to just wrestling skills. In fact, while Ospreay was busy calling out Rollins for his low number of matches and a less productive year, The Visionary didn’t hesitate to indirectly claim himself to be financially superior to the English wrestler.

Although no good came out of the rivalry, it built up tension between the two rivals that excited wrestling fans as they waited for some good action. However, despite patiently waiting, this feud couldn’t be turned into a storyline back then.

Contrary to how things were back then, this real-life rivalry could be getting somewhere now. All the credit for this goes to a couple of tweets that the two stars fired at each other very recently.

Could Seth Rollins face his virtual enemy soon?

The Aerial Assassin is currently a free agent. However, currently he is occupied with NJPW; a contract that is expected to expire in February 2024. This is the part where things get interesting because rumors have it that WWE is interested in signing Will Ospreay. Fueling the rumors, the wrestlers went one step ahead by reigniting their feud on Twitter.

Shortly after The Aerialist defended his WHC title successfully, WWE put up a post on the social media site to praise the reigning champion. Under this post, Ospreay commented with an emoji; showing that he is watching Rollins’ wrestling achievements.

The former Shield member then went on to reply to his real-life rival, adding to the rumors even more.
