Randy Orton has been sidelined since May 2022 due to a back injury he sustained during a beat down from the Bloodline. The moment in reference is from a ‘Winner Takes All Match’ from the May 20th episode of SmackDown. An interference from Roman Reigns lost the title to the RK-Bro duo, but it cost Randy Orton over 18 months on the bench.
Orton was sidelined and underwent a back fusion surgery in November of last year. The injury was confirmed after Randy’s wife, Kim Orton, and father Bob Orton shared the news of Randy’s successful surgery. But what has The Apex Predator been up to in the last 18 months of his life outside of WWE?

Randy Orton suffered the biggest injury of his life and a rare one for pro wrestlers. Though it took away a chunk of his wrestling days, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the Viper.
Randy Orton has spent a lot of time resting and enjoying his time with his family. Although he is not too active on social media, his wife shares regular updates on their lives through social media and her podcast Wives of Wrestling. In the last 18 months, Randy Orton has been out on many vacations with his family.

One of his family vacations occurred around June this year when the whole Orton family visited Universal Studios in Florida. One of the pictures from Kim’s account around August suggests that she visited New York while Orton was at home. Another picture from October indicates that the couple went hitchhiking together.

The Viper spent some time with his kids as well, as can be seen by posts from his social media. He shared a post for his daughter Alanna in June 2022 and another post for his younger daughter Brooklyn in September 2022. The couple also enjoyed Halloween week with their children. But, Randy did not forget his roots.

Randy Orton was eyeing his inevitable return to WWE
Despite spending a long time with family and repeated warnings from doctors, The Apex Predator has not forgotten wrestling. He kept his eyes on the recent happenings in WWE while he was in bed getting stronger. He posted a birthday post for John Cena on Instagram last year. In February, he posted on IG acknowledging his ratings (93) on the WWE 2K23 Game.
A few months ago, he was seen at WWE’s Performance Center, though the purpose of his visit was not verified. It was also reported that he started lifting despite warnings from doctors, indicating his inevitable return. On the episode of Monday Night RAW on 19th November, Cody Rhodes announced that Randy Orton will return to join the team of baby faces against The Judgment Day.
