When Seth Rollins betrayed his brothers from The Shield, he became a part of The Evolution. There, he came closer to The Viper Randy Orton, but the friendship did not last long as they feuded at WrestleMania 31. The rivalry happened again in 2022 when Rollins stomped Orton’s partner, Matt Riddle.

However, Rollins’ partner and a former WWE Champion seems to have forgotten the rivalry between them as she praised Orton. During a recent interview, she called him a legend for his work from 2004.

Becky Lynch praises Randy Orton by calling him a legend

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was invited to Chris Van Vliet’s podcast that was aired on his YouTube channel on 28th September. In the video, Lynch spoke about her rise to the top and her current reign as NXT Champion. During one segment of the interview, she praised Randy Orton and called him a legend.

While recalling her inspiration for wrestling, she initially said Mick Foley, before mentioning Randy Orton. Speaking on Folet, she said, “But I think, for me as a fan to get to the point, where I was crying over this man losing was a defining moment in my fandom. However, when Van Vliet mentioned Foley’s match with Orton, she was quick to praise the latter. “Oh, Randy what a legend. What a legend that man is,” she said.

The reference match happened at Backlash 2004 when Randy Orton played his famous Legend Killer gimmick. Foley had just come out of retirement while Orton was attacking legendary superstars like Michaels and Foley to make a name for himself.

She also praised Mick Foley for playing a pivotal role in shaping her love of wrestling. His underdog persona and compelling promos resonated deeply with her. Foley’s matches, particularly the one against Triple H in Hell in a Cell, left a lasting impression and solidified him as one of her wrestling heroes.

Lynch’s story from an underdog to a Champion

Looking at Lynch’s career trajectory, it is evident that she became a mega-star overnight after her iconic bruised nose moment. Before that, she played underdog even during her days at NXT while being considered as one of The Four Horsewomen.

She also spoke about her recent win over Tiffany Stratton for the NXT Women’s Championship. It was unexpected for her and rewarding as the win helped her become a Grand Slam Champion. The feud has also helped bring Stratton’s talent to the limelight for a bigger audience.
