WWE rivalries have been a major attraction due to their ferocious nature and the memorable moments it inspires. Especially when top superstars of the promotion lock horns with each other. However, another element that catches the attention of fans is the bonding moments between those stars. So, here we will dive into the moment when Stone Cold Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar took their first step to bond with each other, despite their infamous feud.

The WWE Universe must remember the infamous story of Austin walking out from a match with ‘The Conqueror’. It goes back 21 years down the line in 2002, during the King of the Ring when Lesnar was on the path to becoming ‘the next big thing’. In the match, Lesnar would have claimed the win over The Texas Rattlesnake. Nevertheless, Austin not only refused to engage in the match but walked out of the company for almost an entire year. This gave rise to uncountable rumors of a feud between the two. However, things aren’t the way it’s shown.

Speaking on TMZ Sports, Steve Austin talked about a fascinating moment from WrestleMania 38 which might shock many wrestling fans. Even though Lesnar claims to have no bad blood for Austin after what happened in 2002, it was quite difficult for fans to believe. 

However, the anecdote that Austin narrated in the interview shall clarify all doubts as it talks about their bonding moment. The story is from WrestleMania 38 when Roman Reigns defeated Lesnar in the main event. Despite the loss, the day turned out to be eventful as they planned a party in Lesnar’s locker room.

He said, “Me and Brock have been wanting to bond together and have a few cocktails begin with and he goes, ‘hey man, you got anything?’  I said, yeah. I said where we’re meeting, he goes my locker room so was myself, Brock Lesnar, Larry one of the trainers who’s been there forever, and Pat McAfee and we took down a set,” Stone Cold added.

Their party started with “we’re drinking out of gold cups,” but didn’t stop there. It continued till they “took down a fifth of Maker’s Mark in about an hour” as disclosed by Austin himself. Soon after this, all of them went their separate ways. Some even had severe headaches the next day, but it surely has been a bonding moment for them, especially for Lesnar and Austin. 

With this, the decades-long bitterness must have ended between the WWE legends. That being said, it’s also true that they have sheer respect for each other as professionals.
