Dwayne Johnson and John Cena have had a long history together. The two WWE legends have faced each other on several occasions. Despite their long-term rivalry, they were able to become good friends when they had their last match together. However, seeing them on good terms might still be odd for some fans. If that is the case with you, the SmackDown episode last night packed a lot of surprises.

After his bombastic return on SmackDown, Johnson went backstage and bumped into his old acquaintance. Seeing each other after so long tensed the air between Cena and Johnson. However, the two quickly calmed down and hugged each other. The Prototype hasn’t been able to forget about it since then.

Hours after the duo exchanged a brotherly embrace, the WWE legend spoke about the same on his official ‘X’ account. It appears that John Cena might not have forgotten about what happened between the two stars. In fact, Cena was so happy to see Johnson that he couldn’t stop smiling. Consequently, this led to Cena giving him a warm welcome. He quoted his words again while tweeting about the moment.

John Cena posted stills from the precious moment he shared with DJ on his Twitter account. He added in the caption, “The best nights are the ones when we remember we’re all fans. Welcome home, [The Rock]. Thank you, Denver. C U next week.

Not only did The Doctor of Thuganomics wish him a sweet ‘welcome home’, but he also confessed that he’s a ‘fan’. Then, he went on to thank Denver for hosting the iconic night, leading to Cena meeting his long-time friend.

Their wholesome interaction might be a hint that the two of them will be involved in a storyline together. Especially since Cena welcoming The Brahma Bull ‘home’ tells us that he might be here to stay.

Even a few days before this precious interaction, John Cena paid his respects to The Rock’s late father, indirectly overlooking their past rivalry.
