The recently concluded NXT No Mercy saw WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion Becky Lynch locking horns with Tiffany Stratton. The two enthralled the crowd with an Extreme Rules match at the Mechanics Bank Arena, Theater and Convention Center in Bakersfield, California on September 30. But before the match began, the senior pro surprised many with her ring gear.

Her dress paid homage to recently deceased WWE superstar Bray Wyatt, whose death sent a shockwave across the WWE Universe.

What did Becky Lynch’s ring gear convey?

The WWE faithful were processing the news of legend Terry Funk’s death when another shocker rocked them. On 24 August 2023, WWE’s head of content and 14-time world champion Triple H broke the news of Wyatt’s passing. The next few days saw many stars pay their tribute to Windham Rotunda aka Bray Wyatt. WWE had dedicated an entire episode of SmackDown to the two fallen superstars.

Lynch, who had earlier shed tears while recalling Wyatt’s contribution to her wrestling career paid homage once more during her NXT Women’s Championship defense against Stratton. The Man’s ring gear said: “I Am It. I have it. I’ve been it & I will be it until I say it is over.” It was followed by the word “Lasskicker”. It also had BRAY written on the left back of her attire.

Apart from Bray Wyatt’s name, Lynch’s clothing also carried her husband’s name, WWE superstar Seth Rollins, and their daughter, Roux.

Meanwhile, after a vicious back and forth, which lasted over 20 minutes, Lynch retained her championship gold. She hit the NXT sensation with the second Man-Handle Slam to pick up the win.

Becky Lynch suffered injury, needed stitches

During the championship match, Lynch reportedly suffered injuries. As per reports, The Man needed 11 stiches to cover up a cut that she suffered during the course of her bout against Stratton.

Fortunately, Lynch is Stable and as of now, is set to defend her gold against Tegan Nox at Monday night’s RAW. However, will she be medically cleared to compete? That remains the vital question currently.

On the other hand, with this title defense, Lynch has now extended her run as the NXT Women’s Champion, but will that come to an end against Nox? Let’s wait for the future to find out more.
