The comeback of CM Punk to WWE at the Survivor Series stirred up three gigantic storms. One was the huge storm of cheers and applause from the audience. The second one was unleashed in the head of AEW’s Tony Khan. But, the strongest one wreaked havoc in the world of WWE Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.

A change in the entire personality of Seth Rollins was visible as soon as CM Punk stepped foot in the WWE arena after nine long years. Rollins, who is actually Colby Lopez, has a huge real-life feud with Punk, Phillip Jack Brooks. However, everyone knows how big of a CM Punk fan Rollins was initially. In fact, a social media post shed light on how much The Architect resembled ‘The Best in the World’ at one point.

Seth Rollins made his WWE debut in November 2012. Prior to this, he wrestled as Tyler Black in the Ring of Honor pro wrestling outfit and was its Champion. Interestingly, CM Punk was also an ROH Champion before making his way to the WWE.

Rollins was perfectly following in the footsteps of his role model. In fact, he even cut his promos the same way as Punk. Pro Wrestling Podcasts recently added a reel to its Instagram page showcasing Rollins delivering a promo in 2010.

It didn’t take a trained eye to see the similarities in speech, tone, delivery, and attitude shown by Seth Rollins to that of CM Punk. The promo showed Tyler Black almost explicitly talking about moving to the WWE. Seth Rollins embodied the same nonchalant way of spitting facts as CM Punk when he spoke on the mic.

Seeing this throwback, several members of the WWE Universe also pointed to this fact. But, instead of just noticing, fans began to ridicule Rollins for his CM Punk gimmick.

Fans take shots at Rollins for his Punk-like ways

Seth Rollins has lately been fuming a lot because of CM Punk. Moreover, he even dissed the WWE Universe for thinking so highly of him recently. Returning the favor, one of the fans wrote, “Bro wants to be CM Punk so bad.” Pointing out Rollins’ prior admiration of Punk, another fan said, “he really idolized CM Punk at one point and it was so obvious.”

Adding another layer of insult, one fan noted, “Bro thought he was CM Punk for years.” Not everyone seemed to be aware of what the post was really pointing out. One such fan wrote, “Why is he copying CM Punk?” Another WWE Universe member gave credit to Rollins’ way of speaking to Punk. They wrote, “CM Punk did it first.”

Resuming the train of humiliation, a fan wrote, “Just a punk wannabe.” Another CM Punk fan popped their head and typed, “Punk gonna smack his name and his action so much that he’ll shut the f**k up.” Seth Rollins has often said that meeting his hero was the biggest mistake of his life.
