The revamped business model of the new unified company saw a massive roster cut. Starting with Mustafa Ali’s controversial release on Thursday, it continues to hit the roster. Alongside Aliyah, Riddick Moss, Elias, and Dolph Ziggler, former United States Champion Shelton Benjamin, has been part of the casualties.

Their helpless situation sent a wake-up call even to the world outside WWE. While fans and peers poured their support and love into those uprooted talent, a prominent political figure Jamie Harrison hailed his contributions.

With the recent firing announcement on Twitter, the 48-year-old wrapped up his WWE stint for the second time. He came back to the company in 2017 after parting ways in 2010.

Throughout these two separate WWE runs, Benjamin had scored remarkable success in his craft. The Gold Standard acquired the United States Championship once, the Intercontinental Championship three times, and the “Raw” Tag Team Championships thrice.

His most recent memorable segment involved The Hurt Business, Alexander, Bobby Lashley, and MVP. The star last time appeared in a televised match on the June 19th episode of March.

After finally signing off, he got the eyeballs of the leader of the National Democratic Party, Jamie Harrison. The politician paid heartfelt respect to Benjamin. He wrote over Twitter, ”Hey brother… just know your hometown/home state folks are forever proud of you!”

Although the firing decision solely came from the company higher-ups. However, he later realized it was a blessing in disguise.

Due to the release, he had more time to spend with his family members and to care for his own well-being. Also, his shoulder injury promoted him to such a stage to never came back until 2017.
