Pro wrestling is a risky business. No matter how many precautions these stars take, the performers always run the risk of injury. While some injuries are a part of kayfabe, others are very real. One such incident happened in the latest episode of  WWE Raw Day 1. While many fans thought that Becky Lynch’s injury was part of a kayfabe, internal reports suggest that this wasn’t a planned spot.

Becky Lynch’s injury was real

In an image now being shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) Becky Lynch can be seen in it with a bleeding face. This was the product of her recent bout against Nia Jax. The two have been going back and forth for weeks and a fight was scheduled for the WWE Raw Day 1, this week. After sparring for some time, Jax pinned The Man after delivering an uppercut and a second rope drop-down splash. It could be assumed that the bleeding was a result of the aforementioned uppercut. Many presumed this was pre-planned spot designed to be a callback to the reason for the feud but reports claim that Jax actually busted Lynch open hardway as she did in the past.

As many wrestling fans know, this isn’t the first time Jax has busted Lynch’s face open. On the road to the 2018 Survivor Series, the women’s division of Raw had invaded SmackDown ahead of the brand warfare. During this time, Lynch was a part of the blue brand. As the ladies of the Raw ravaged SmackDown backstage, Jax ended up accidentally punching Lynch square in the mouth, causing her to bleed from the mouth.

While Lynch was hurt, the visual of a bleeding Lynch standing defiantly amongst the crowd became folklore. Many credit this bad*ss moment as the making of ‘The Man’. However, nobody knew that this old incident would become the reason for a feud between her and Nia Jax in 2023-24. Weeks before the Day 1 episode of Raw, Lynch called out Jax and stated that the reason why Jax is popular now is because of her.

While fans thought Lynch might be the winner, things did not go in her favor. After the disappointing loss, she opened up about how she was dealing with defeat from one of her arch rivals.

How Becky Lynch is dealing with her loss

In a clip shared by WWE following the fight, Lynch shared how she is feeling following her defeat at the hands of The Irresistible Force. In the clip, Big Time Becks looked sad and dejected from the loss. When asked what’s next from here, she replied, “Well, It’s only uphill from here.” This could be a clear sign for Jax that the fight between them might not be over yet.

Lynch might look for a possible way to settle the score in the near future. The only question is when can fans expect that bout to take place. One possibility might be that the two will face off against each other at the upcoming Royal Rumble. Only time will tell when the two will settle their score.
