After the tidal wave, which was the ending segment of the WWE WrestleMania XL Kickoff show swept across the WWE Universe, this upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown is highly anticipated. Not only will we see Roman Reigns and Dwayne Johnson share the ring once more, but there are also a few interesting matches. General Manager Nick Aldis took to social media to make some announcements ahead of the show.

This will be the first episode of WWE SmackDown after the Kickoff show. WWE RAW saw the aftermath of the aforementioned events with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins building an alliance. Now, the question is what will happen on SmackDown. While we may not know how the segment involving The Rock and Reigns may transpire, we do know one another thing. SmackDown GM Aldis revealed an unfortunate piece of news for SmackDown.

Nick Aldis reveals Shotzi will not appear on WWE SmackDown

Taking to social media, the WWE SmackDown General Manager had a few announcements to make ahead of the show. First off, he said that Shotzi would not be competing in the show. The WWE star suffered a knee injury during her NXT match with Lyra Valkyria for the Women’s title. This affected the WWE’s plans to have her compete for a spot in the Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Aldis revealed the news by saying, “I have some unfortunate news to kick things off. Shotzi is unfortunately injured and unable to compete.”

He followed this by wishing her a speedy recovery and announcing who would be taking her place. Aldis said that Alba Fyre will be the new wrestler to take her place in the qualifying match. Fyre will take on Naomi, while Zelina Vega will take on Tiffany Stratton.

Aldis continued with the announcement and said that Logan Paul would be facing The Miz. Following this will be Roman Reigns and Dwyane Johnson addressing the fans. While talking about this, Aldis said, “I hear they like to cook – I have a few dishes prepared myself, if you catch my drift.” This could imply that Aldis will have some stipulations in place to make sure the Samoans don’t try to establish control of his show.

Why Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns could try to take over SmackDown?

There has been a power struggle brewing between Reigns and Aldis. On multiple occasions, the Undisputed Universal champion talked about how Aldis’ actions insult The Tribal Chief. Now, with Johnson, who sits on the board of TKO, by his side, Reigns has more power.

Despite Triple H announcing on WWE RAW that he is the one true shot caller, The Rock may try to leverage his power over Aldis.
