Two Years After Joining $6.6 Billion Generating Series, John Cena Inadvertently Reveals Vin Diesel-Led Cast’s Honest Reaction to Him Landing Fast and Furious Role: “They Don’t Want a New Person”

Fast and Furious, the movie franchise, that went from underground drag racing riddled with crime to explosions and over-the-top action recently opened its doors to WWE’s John Cena in F9 in 2021. While he already has a lot of movies under his belt, and even a main role in a critically-acclaimed TV show, Peacemaker, this is Cena’s big break.

Getting to be a part of The Fast series is akin to becoming a household name. Cena’s career will only move in the upward direction after the newest addition to the franchise, Fast X. But how do the other members of the cast look at Cena when he first came over?

John Cena opens up about how Vin Diesel and other Fast series stars look at new blood in the franchise

In an interview with Busted Open, John Cena delved into a lot of topics. From his WWE retirement to memorable moments in the company. But when the host asked Cena about the Fast franchise, Cena compared them to the WWE locker room.

Just like the locker room, the franchise also worked as a family, and a new person entering could always be a divisive topic.

About his initiation into the Fast family, Cena said, “It is the way it is because the original has been doing it for 22 years. They don’t want a new person coming in there, essentially negating their hard work. It’s a real family environment and there’s a few conversations and cocktails encouraged which I really like. It’s reminds me of my early days in the WWE.”

Vin Diesel had beef with Cena’s one-time WWE rival Dwayne Johnson, but he has taken a liking to Cena. In an interview, Cena also deemed Diesel for giving him his big break in Hollywood.

But how well has Cena fared in the $6.6 billion franchise with new and returning actors such as Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Brie Larson, and Jason Momoa?

In F9, his debut went over well with the fans. Debuting as Diesel’s character’s brother gave his appearance in the movie some weight as well. But one of the biggest praises that Cena received was from Diesel himself.

The veteran actor told Cena that the spirit of Paul Walker, the main lead in the Fast series who tragically died in 2014, sent the 16-time world champion to play Diesel’s brother.

So, from that comment, it seems like Cena is doing well with the Fast family and we hope to see him in the Fast X movie coming out on May 19, 2023.
