2 Years After John Cena Received a Massive Pop at WWE Money in the Bank, the Champ’s Recent Appearance Gives “Hope” to Fans for a Deja Vu Moment

Next week, WWE will fly to London for its upcoming Premium Live Event, Money in the Bank. The match card for the event is replete with action-packed matches. But a surprise return from John Cena could make Money in the Bank so much more stellar. Not that John Cena is advertised to return but coincidently, he will be in the same city as the venue of the MITB event. 

The MITB will emanate from the O2 arena in London. And John Cena is currently in London due to being committed to an upcoming Hollywood project starring alongside Idris Elba and Priyanka Chopra. 

John Cena was recently spotted in Croydon

It was previously reported that John Cena was spotted at a gym in Liverpool, taking pictures with his fans. With Money in the Bank fast approaching, fans are now spitballing about his potential appearance at the event. 

The last time John Cena made his surprise return at Money in the Bank was in 2021. As Roman Reigns prepared to cut a promo, he was interrupted by John Cena’s music followed by a massive pop from the crowd. Although John Cena is now a part-timer in WWE, his returns are always well-received by his admirers. 

And speaking of Money in the Bank, John Cena was one of the few superstars who ended up losing after cashing in the Money in the Bank contract. A new photo of John Cena in Croydon is now making rounds on the internet. 

The Cenation leader is seen interacting with his fans in the picture. As noted earlier, John Cena’s presence in London is tied to his involvement in the film, Head of State. It is also known that the film is currently in the works. Meanwhile, wrestling fans cannot stop fantasizing about John Cena’s surprise return at Money in the Bank. Fans on Twitter have conspicuously gotten their hopes up.

Although it’s highly unlikely for John Cena to make a return to work a program in the WWE, it is possible to see him make an appearance. When John Cena made his return on Raw ahead of WrestleMania, he was moved to tears while trying to cope with the adulation of his fans. Let’s not forget, this was heavily teased ahead of WrestleMania but Cena ended up facing Austin Theory. All in all, there’s a very slim chance for John Cena to make an appearance at the Money in the Bank event. However, John Cena just may take those few hours of drive to surprise his fans.
