WWE in essence is like a comic book. There are good guys and bad guys. Although we recognize our superheroes as babyfaces and the heels as villains, there are characters in WWE that genuinely resonate with popular superheroes from the comics. And one such star is ‘The One and Only’, Ricochet. The former Intercontinental Champion’s high-flying prowess in the ring bears resemblance to Marvel comic book superhero, Spider-Man.

The Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is currently reaching milestones in theatres. The film has already grossed $500M, becoming the 4th movie in 2022 to accomplish that feat. And now, WWE fans want to see Ricochet play Spider-Man.

The 34-year-old star has also been expressive about his love for video game characters. But now, he has gotten the fans rallying to see him in a Spider-Man live-action film.

Taking to Twitter, Ricochet gave his opinion on Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. He wrote that he loved the Miles Morales film, though Tom Holland remains his favorite Spider-Man. A fan responded and suggested Ricochet wear a Spider-Man-themed outfit sometime.

In response, Ricochet tweeted a picture of him in a Spider-Man outfit with a Championship on his waist. He wrote,I already have! But there’s always another chance.”

Ricochet’s iconic tribute to Spider-Man got the fans clamoring to see Ricochet play the role of Spider-Man in the future. Furthermore, we as fans believe that it is very much possible. When it comes to athleticism, The former US Champion has all the ingredients to make a perfect Spider-Man in the movies. And the fact that WWE Superstars are no strangers to getting a call-up from Hollywood puts hope in this fantasy.

Maybe we could even catch Ricochet wearing the Spider-Man-themed outfit to the ring in the future. Speaking of which, did you know Finn Balor’s Demon King gimmick is inspired by Venom?

While speaking with Sporf, he stated why he is different from the other talents. According to him, despite getting his moves stolen by the “younger generations”, he still stands out due to his ability to do it better than everybody.

He said, “I stand out because the younger generations are just stealing all my stuff. But it’s OK because my generation just stole all AJ Styles’ stuff and Evan Bourne’s stuff. So the tucked moonsault is definitely the Matt Sydal/Evan Bourne moonsault that we all do,” he continued, “But the way Ricochet really stands out, and take this however you will take this, but the way Ricochet stands out is he just does it better than everybody else,”
