Many WWE superstars covet the Money in the Bank briefcase as they can exchange it for the chance to win a title. Previous victors like Edge and CM Punk have used the golden ticket to cement their careers. One current WWE star, meanwhile, appears to view the famous briefcase differently.

Austin Theory‘s Money in the Bank briefcase is marred by defeat and humiliation. The wrestler revealed that he is embarrassed to walk around with the coveted briefcase. From what he has said, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ has something to do with it.

The Money in the Bank briefcase reminds Austin Theory of Brock Lesnar

Theory is the WWE’s youngest Money in the Bank winner. He was 24 years old when he won the briefcase. But at a Raw event in November last year, he met with an unfortunate turn of events.

At the event, Austin Theory tried to cash in his Money in the Bank contract against United States champion Seth Rollins. He had been carrying the briefcase for four months by then. He tried to capitalize on Bobby Lashley’s beatdown of Rollins to seize the title. However, ‘The Visionary’ outlasted him and retained the championship in the show’s main event.

In an interview on Twitter with WWE, Austin Theory stated, “The thing that sucks is that I…I carry around a briefcase that was so dented up, and the sad part was that a lot of those dents were from Brock Lesnar beating the crap out of me with it. This is just touchy. I don’t know why you guys had me do this.”

Theory’s disclosure sheds light on his embarrassment from ‘The Beast Incarnate’ beating him up with his own briefcase. Lesnar turned Theory’s prize into a reminder of his defeat.

Theory made history by being the first wrestler to try to redeem their contract for the US Championship rather than a global championship. However, it seems possible that someone who recently won an MITB briefcase might attempt the same.

Why would Damian Priest go after a mid-card championship?

The WWE Universe is speculating about this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match winner, Damian Priest, and his likely cash-in. Who will he be aiming his briefcase at? No one seems to be sure. Although Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns seem like possible candidates, Damian also has the chance to make history by going after Carmelo Hayes, the NXT Champion.

Considering Theory’s unexpected Money in the Bank cash-in versus US champion Seth Rollins in 2022, rumours started circulating about whether Damian Priest will make a similar move. Will he go after a mid-card championship like the US Championship or Intercontinental Championship?

Will Damian Priest follow in Theory’s footsteps and make a surprise attempt, possibly reigniting the frenzy around the Money in the Bank contract? That is the question that lingers. Only time will tell if Priest will grab the chance or choose a different course. The WWE Universe is also interested to see how Theory’s narrative develops as he copes with the embarrassment and challenges of the dented briefcase.
