The August 7 episode of Monday Night RAW was a big one for the WWE. It was the first event after SummerSlam on August 5. As usual, there were some surprises. One of which was LA Knight’s appearance on the show. The star has been on the rise this year. After delaying his push for months, the promotion seems to be working on plugging that gap recently.

Meanwhile, fans had a few things to say about Knight’s appearance on the red brand. During the draft earlier this year, the 40-year-old got drafted to SmackDown. His presence on RAW also left fans divided. But before that, let’s find out what he was up to at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Both Knight and WWE superstar The Miz were involved in a segment at the RAW episode. It started backstage where one of the crew members asked The Miz to wait while they looked after LA Knight. Later, the 2-time WWE Champion cut a promo telling the crowd how Knight disrespected him while highlighting that Knight was a newcomer.

Knight had eliminated the 42-year-old at the Battle Royal match at SummerSlam. It was won by the SmackDown star, who managed to send Sheamus over the top rope to clinch the victory. The Miz spoke about that as well. But Knight, who made his entry amid a huge pop from those in attendance, cut him short.

The two had a go at each other on the mike, after The Awesome One refused to shake Knight’s hand. Things also got personal when The Miz asked the other wrestler where he was for the last 20 years when he was winning championships in the WWE.

He also called Knight an ‘Attitude Era Fanboy’, even as the crowd supported the latter. It ultimately ended with a physical altercation. After The Miz attacked Knight with a cheap shot, The Defiant One countered with a Blunt Force Trauma. Knight also shook The Miz’s hand after the attack.

Meanwhile, fans were left divided by Knight’s presence on RAW.

Fans mock WWE’s roster and its pointless rules as LA Knight graces RAW

Earlier this year, WWE held its draft, distributing its talents among RAW and SmackDown. Some pro wrestlers from NXT, their developmental territory, were also called up and drafted.

LA Knight was placed on SmackDown’s roster. His presence made some fans question the legitimacy of the draft and the brand split.

“The brand split is so pointless 😂,” one user said on Instagram. Another wrote: “Im confused what happened with him on smackdown?”

A third user observed: “Draft dead.”

But not everyone was against it. Knight’s career has witnessed the sharpest growth among all other superstars in the current roster. The 40-year-old also defeated The Bloodline in the numbers game on social media last month.

Not surprisingly, his presence made many happy as well.

“This is Triple H testing LA Knight against one of the greatest on the mic 💯 this should be fun!!! I wish Miz had an title tbh…,” this person reckoned. Both Miz and Knight have a robust mic game and it’s fun to watch these two go after each other.

“I don’t care about the draft when it comes to LA Knight, I need him on my TV every day‬,” said this LA Knight fan.

There were talks about a lack of effort from WWE in giving Knight the right push, despite him being able to convince the crowd to cheer for him. That seemed to have improved. Knight, as stated above, has won the Battle Royal and is set for a possible title run. This fan noticed the development: “la knight on raw? the push is definitely in motion.”
