In a recent social media clash between former WCW executive Eric Bischoff and AEW CEO Tony Khan, AEW star Harwood weighed in by suggesting Bischoff was upset about not being offered a job at AEW. Bischoff took a measured jab, noting that perhaps age has thickened his skin or added wisdom.
While acknowledging Harwood’s promotional role, Bischoff expressed understanding of the situation and questioned what FTR would be doing if not with AEW.
Bischoff sees Khan’s online clash as a misstep, suggesting Harwood defends him out of necessity. Without intending to criticize Harwood, Bischoff questioned FTR’s options without AEW, uncertain about their ties to WWE. While acknowledging Khan’s financial support, he emphasized that high wages may not always be the best business decision.
Furthermore, Bischoff suggested that AEW has a negative impact on the industry, contending that it portrays wrestling poorly to advertisers. After the interview, numerous supporters and fans shared their views in the YouTube comment section on the entire scenario.
Tony Khan and the top AEW star face the heat as fans join the battle of words
Surprisingly, several fans took Bischoff’s side and bashed Khan and Harwood. One user stated, “Tony buries himself, he doesn’t need help from Eric or anyone else.”
Another fan wrote, “Wrestlers are so delusional and pathetic to be insulted by words, Eric is just keeping it 💯 and if I’m not mistaken wasn’t FTR complaining about “their spot” in AEW about a year ago? Funny how they can forget about that.” Accordingly, the fan calls out FTR for their hypocrisy as a year back they were questioning AEW.

Several others claimed, “Tony’s money is worth it for him, I guess,” and that “Dax got bodied here.”
One user went all in by saying, “If ANYTHING, Eric and Cornette want AEW to improve their product for longevity. Broaden the audience and focus on advertising and beating the competition. They have both worked in and against WWE and understand the business. Real fans want AEW to succeed. But if the product is nauseating and ONLY pleasing a portion of a once massive audience….it will dwindle.”
