John Cena’s WWE comeback amid the SAG-AFTRA strike has attracted significant attention. However, ongoing negotiations between the actors’ guild and AMPTP may limit his wrestling career. Cena has openly discussed the challenges of balancing wrestling with acting due to liability insurance concerns. Cena had a press conference recently after WWE Fastlane. 

He said, “I’ve made it clear that you can’t do both because of the liability insurance. If I were to try and juggle both, that’s very selfish because I would put a whole lot of people in the movie business out of work if something were to happen to me.” 

He continued, “Yes, I stopped a project in the middle of it. I can’t even talk about the project because of the strike, but we’re in the middle of it. As soon as we get back to work, we go back to work. I don’t control any of that.”

He emphasized his commitment to a positive contribution during the strike, despite potentially halting a project. In a prior interview, Cena hinted at the possibility of retirement from professional wrestling. He said, “As I said out there in the ring, the last one is not tonight, but I know it’s soon. Every single chance I get to go out there becomes more and more special. There is no denying the fact that I’m 46 and staring down 47. I’ve been here for over two decades.”

He also acknowledged the significance of each appearance as he approaches his late 40s. He’s thriving in acting with a role in Peacemaker’s second season. However, Cena’s wrestling future is uncertain.
