The season premiere of RAW ended with a bang as the creative team managed to pack a surprise for the fans. Two months after getting kicked by his brother on SmackDown, Jimmy Uso sneaked to RAW to exact revenge. His timing, however, cost Jey Uso his Undisputed Tag Team title against The Judgment Day. But, Jey Uso wasn’t the only one who got affected by Jimmy’s move, in fact, Rikishi’s elder son managed to kill two birds with one stone.

Cody Rhodes also lost his gold in the process. But why did Jimmy Uso attack his sibling? Was it just to get even? Let’s find out the other possibilities.

There is a high chance that the above line is the driving force behind Jimmy Uso’s recent action. The Usos have spoken about setting up a rivalry and cashing it on the grandest stage. Though no dateline was fixed for the bout, now it looks like the brothers are in a hurry. Needless to say, Jimmy Uso’s kick will have repercussions in the future. Do not be surprised if WrestleMania 40, to be held in the “city of Brotherly Love”, hosts a brother vs brother bout featuring the former Undisputed Tag Team Champions.

Or, was Jimmy Uso doing a service to Rhea Ripley? Remember the SmackDown episode before Fastlane? Ripley and Paul Heyman shook hands and spoke about a deal. Though the content of their conversation hasn’t been made public yet, it could be a pact between the two stables to help one another in times of need, such as the RAW episode.

The other player who was left hamstrung by Jimmy Uso- The American Nightmare- could also be the sole reason why the superkick was employed. Hurting Cody Rhodes will no doubt place Jimmy Uso in  Roman Reigns’ good books. The cousins are still nursing a fragile tie and this could do the trick and get the old Uso twin a morale-boosting hug from The Head of the Table.

But why will hurting Cody Rhodes gain Jimmy Uso any favor?

Cody Rhodes likely to have a rematch with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40

The Prince of Pro Wrestling rode a wave of popularity while setting up his clash with The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 39. There were belief in some corners that Reigns would go down to Rhodes, but that didn’t happen. Shortly after the bout, Rhodes was forced to commence a new feud with Brock Lesnar and his story with Roman Reigns was shelved.

But the voices are getting louder once again. As per rumors, there is a massive chance of Reigns Vs Rhodes 2 at WrestleMania 40, scheduled for April 6 and 7, 2024 at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rhodes, unlike the previous bout, is more stronger than ever, having gone over the mighty Brock Lesnar in a three-match feud.

So, denting Reigns’ enemy early would serve as a purpose for Jimmy Uso. That said, did he also liberate Rhodes from the tag team bond? With no titles around his waist, Cody Rhodes is likely to put more focus on his singles journey and avenge the humiliation.
