Fans witnessed the ceremonious return of CM Punk to WWE at the 2023 Survivor Series. The Best in the World received a warm welcome from the WWE Universe. Even before his huge return fans had been chanting his name for years during various shows in Chicago and other cities. Despite his absence from WWE for nearly a decade, fans across arenas where vocal in their support for Punk.

Just a few days after a heated segment with the Raw superstar Seth Rollins, Punk revealed how his fans have been a motivation behind his return.

While talking on Instagram Live, Punk decided to thank his fans for not forgetting about him in the past decade. He said, “This isn’t about me, this is about us. This about everybody that is behind me that for ten years didn’t forget chanted my name.” The prime example of this was at the 2023 Crown Jewel. While the kick-off show featuring Sami Zayn and JD McDonagh was about to start, fans present in the arena chanted “CM Punk” as the rumors about his return intensified.

Further, he added that this love and support from fans will help motivate him for his second run at WWE. He said, “I’m going to put the boots back on for all of ya’ll.” Punk concluded by saying that he wants to have this second run with his fans. He said, “We’re going to go on this journey together.”  Since his return to WWE, fans have been showering their love on Punk and the numbers do advocate this fact.

The episode of Monday Night Raw that followed the events of Survivor Series saw a jump in the viewership. According to reports, the 11/27 episode of Raw saw a jump in viewership by 29% compared to the 11/20 episode of Raw. Apart from that, a total of 1.88 million viewers had tuned in on that night to see CM Punk cut a promo. Talking about promo, WWE might have waved the flag for the rivalry between Seth Rollins and CM Punk to start.

On the 12/11 episode of Raw, CM Punk finally made up his mind to sign with the flagship brand of WWE. What he might have forgotten about was the fact that Seth Rollins was referred to as the Monday Night Messiah for a reason. Just when the former AEW star signed the contract, Rollins made his way to the ring.

The two had a heated conversation with Rollins warning Punk to not call WWE his home. While the two did not spar at the moment, Punk did declare that he would be coming after Rollins to snatch his championship belt from him.
