32-Year-Old WWE Star Recalls Handing Sasha Banks a Stiff Receipt at the Royal Rumble Which Garnered Epic Reaction From Rhea Ripley- “This Is My Moment”

WWE keeps feeding fans’ fantasies with exhilarating displays of scripted rivalries, intense brawls, and violence inside the ring.

Current WWE star Zelina Vega missed her chance to defeat Rhea Ripley in her homeland, Puerto Rico, at Backlash earlier this month. Despite her failure, she fulfilled another goal that she had outlined for herself. She didn’t miss her chance to launch revenge on former WWE star Sasha Banks at Royal Rumble earlier this year. Recently one of the most talked about WWE female figures weighed in on that incident from last year.

Zelina Vega recalled the moment of exacting revenge

At some point of time in WWE, Vega was about to turn on Bianca Belair when Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) suddenly came to her rescue. The current NPJW star dished out a Meteora to Vega with such force that it almost broke her orbital bone. The 32-year-old star immediately made up her mind to make Banks pay for it.

When the golden chance came at Royal Rumble last year, Queen Zelina didn’t let it go without punishing her nemesis. She kicked Mone in the stomach just before knocking her out.

Speaking to the recent podcast episode of Wrestling with Freddie, the LWO member recollected that event. Explaining the details of the whole incident, she noted, ”She had hit me with the Meteora, and dude, I felt like my orbital bone broke. I was like, oh my God. Of course, she was super apologetic and whatever, but then I was like, girl, you got a receipt coming. I was so mad. ”

”Royal Rumble happens, and I knew I was gonna eliminate her and I was like, this is my moment. I think I kicked the soul out of her. I kicked her so hard,” Vega added.

She further noted that her backlash opponent, Rhea Ripley, had also reacted to the incident. The eradicator acknowledged her effort, saying, ”She was waiting for that one. Yep, that’s the one.”

That being said, fans didn’t react very well to Vega’s candid revelation of delivering a receipt to Sasha Banks in an excessive fashion.

Vega pacified fans by reconfirming the lighter side of the incident

Zelina Vega has been in the spotlight since her Backlash appearance. Despite the loss, Vega received heroic treatment from fans before and after the match. The sole reason was that it created a sense of pride among Puerto Rican fans to see their homegrown girl carrying the national flag on her shoulder and competing in a major WWE event.

Days after, that same Vega garnered massive backlash for what she did with former WWE star Sasha Banks last year. Despite Zelina mentioning in the interview that it was all fine among them afterward, it couldn’t convince fans. For the sake of fans’ emotions, the lady herself had to come up with a further declaration saying it was not as severe as they thought it to be.

The star is now working for the established stable LWO under the tutelage of Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. We need to see what next WWE has in store for her.
