There were a plethora of female wrestlers in WWE who belong to the glamour world, especially in modeling. There was a time when having a modeling career was a big plus in order to make it to the Stamford-based company. WWE has signed up plenty of models throughout the past decade. Some of them also turned out the most successful divas in the company’s history, while others failed to reach that level.

The common logic behind this popular practice was that it would be easier to turn a photogenic woman into a highly sought-after entertainment character on WWE TV. That being said, this stance of WWE also led them to snub many potential wrestlers just because they didn’t fit the bill. One such name is Taylor Wilde, who is currently signed under Impact Wrestling.

At the start of her career, Wilde wrestled under WWE’s developmental territory Deep South Wrestling. But she never got to the main roster and had to make her name elsewhere as a wrestler.

During a recent interview with Ten Count, the 37-year-old revealed that she even didn’t think to get into WWE, as she knew the truth well.

Wilde noted, ‘At no time did I see myself as the TNA version of Trish, or I never thought of myself as this WWE Diva type of wrestler. I thought I was this indie girl who was just here to prove myself to wrestle because WWE never put me in that category.’

Explaining the whole diva reign in WWE at that time, she added, ‘So they were really coming back to the, let’s hire models and teach them how to wrestle. Granted, these women have been extremely successful, and no shade whatsoever. hat part was deflating.”

She continued, “We were all responsible for training those girls in the developmental system, and we’ve all had very different careers than them, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.”

She not only explained the diva culture in WWE’s women’s division but also weighed in on another big problem in women’s rosters in the present scenario of professional wrestling.

She detailed how a lack of women in creatives takes a toll on the overall health of pro wrestling. Although she has no doubt in the male writer’s ability, Taylor thinks women better understand other women’s perceptions and feelings and can write the script accordingly.
