“There’s No Hard Feelings”: Edge Comes Clean on WWE Denying Him a Contract Extension & Getting ‘Crazy’ Offers From AEW

Coping with a wrestling legend’s possible retirement could often be difficult for fans. This is because of the connection they have established with the wrestler watching them on their screens. There’s no difference to this concept when it comes to Edge‘s case. The beloved WWE legend had a long run inside the promotion and recently had his last match in the company. The uncertainty regarding the wrestler’s future has been keeping fans on the ‘edge’ of their seats.

Taking this into account, the Rated-R Superstar took to his Twitter recently. In the video that he posted, Edge tried to clear out the fog covering his uncertain future the best way he could. However, his words give us hints regarding what he might be looking forward to doing next.

Where is Edge headed after WWE?

Until now, several fans were not sure whether the wrestler was returning to WWE or not. In the video he posted, Edge didn’t appear in a place where he would look forward to renewing his contract with the Stamford-based company. But he also cleared that he hasn’t announced a ‘retirement’ yet because of how confused he is regarding the decision. And now, he could be implying that AEW might be completing the demands WWE is not negotiating with.

The wrestler told his fans in the video, “There’s no hard feelings between me and WWE. I love WWE. You know, it’s my dream gig. It’s all I ever wanted to do and I didn’t come out of some crazy contract or anything and they didn’t deny me. Another contract extension sitting in my inbox. I just don’t know what to do.” Then, he also added later in the message, “Just know that whatever it is that I do, whether it’s Percy Jackson, which is coming out soon, or it’s wrestling or it’s sitting in my rocking chair, it’s because I’m having fun. And having fun at this stage of my life and raising my kid — two of the most important things.”

He clearly mentioned his love for WWE as a wrestling company. However, recent reports suggest that WWE has failed to meet the demands he placed on the table to commit his future to the company. On the other hand, AEW appeared ready to agree to Edge’s demands, unlike the opposing promotion.

Moreover, there has been running speculation that the WWE Hall of Famer might be all set to join AEW at their upcoming ‘All In’. So, the reports, along with his words and speculations, suggest that WWE might have already lost the wrestler. It could be possible that Edge may not end up using the ‘contract extension’ sent by WWE that is sitting in his inbox.
