Dwayne Johnson left millions of WWE fans heartbroken earlier this year. The Brahma Bull was rumored to take on his cousin, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. Instead, the WWE Universe was offered Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes as the main event on the second night of the marquee event on April 2 at the SoFi Stadium. If not seeing Johnson left many sad, wait till you hear what The Great One had to say about the rumored match.

After rumors did the rounds, WWE came out clean by having Rhodes go after Reigns in his ‘finishing the story’ storyline. This made many believe that The Rock facing Reigns was just another rumor.

Now, Johnson has admitted it was actually scheduled. Speaking to former WWE color commentator Pat McAfee on his eponymous show, Johnson said, “Alright, so, The Rock headlining WrestleMania with Roman Reigns SoFi Stadium, that was locked. We were doing it.”

This, no doubt will add insult to injury as several fans had hoped the Anoa’i family members would have an epic showdown. But that wasn’t to happen.
