The 2023 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony concluded with the legends taking their rightful place in wrestling immortality. Among the various outstanding personalities that got added to the elite list, The Great Muta aka Keiji Muto stands aside. He was inducted by none other than ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.
He had ample experience in Japan’s sports entertainment circuit owing to his various tours to the country in the 80s. And it did not come as a surprise when it was announced that Flair would be the one to induct Muta. However, his speech during the ceremony was drawing a lot of flak from the fans.

The 16-time world champion entered the arena performing his usual antics. It was the content of his speech that did not please the fans. Flair focused more on him putting over Japanese talents and less on Muta’s herculean contribution to the wrestling industry. Moreover, the Japanese wrestler showed glimpses of a trademark heel before the ceremony.
Fans expressed their disapproval of the WWE legend over how he chewed up the screentime.
Fans react to Flair reportedly speaking more on himself than Muta
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice it and took to social media in huge numbers to react. They thought that Flair was speaking on his own rather than taking the aid of a prompter.
These are some of the top comments:

Flair did appear to blow his own trumpet during his speech. As he said, “A lot of people say that I made guys in this business. I did make a few.” It has to be said, Flair’s typical flamboyance was on display on the night. However, although he might have had very less to say about Muta, he still managed to share an interesting anecdote featuring the performer.
Ric Flair recalls an incident featuring The Great Muta aka Keiji Muto
Flair reminisced about the star from ‘The Land Of Rising Sun’s first foray into the US business back in 1989. And revealed he was the one chosen to show Muta around the city of Atlanta.
“The Dirtiest Player of The Game,” said, “So, shocker, they call me in the office in Atlanta 1989 and they said, Ric, he is a handsome young Japanese guy, we’re bringing him in and we need someone to show him Atlanta Georgia.” Thus describing the initial meetup between the two all-time greats.
