The said statue was unveiled on Monday (October 16) at the Grevin Museum in Paris. Johnson was one among the several Hollywood A-listers whose statue was considered and later finalized following a poll.

As per reports, the museum had hosted a public competition to find the winner amongst celebrities like Ariana Grande, Elon Musk, Tom Holland, Dua Lipa, Zendaya, Chris Pratt, Selena Gomez, Margot Robbie and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The public voted in favor of the 51-year-old.

With his waxwork, The Great One now joins the ranks of Oscar winners Maryl Streep, George Clooney, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who also have their statues exhibited by the facility. Johnson, however, is yet to be nominated for the prestigious Academy Award.

On the other hand, fans noted that the figure, erected to actual measurements, missed an important Dwayne Johnson trait. Let’s find out what it is.

Fans think wax statue could have been a bit more tanned, spot likeness with another Hollywood actor

The major issue that a lot of fans pointed out was how white Johnson looked. In all fairness, they aren’t wrong. Johnson does possess a bit more tanned skin than what has been depicted by the museum.

“Yea would be him if he showered with bleach!!” said a Facebook user, taking a light jab at the work.

Another said, “Thats a ‘white’ Rock!”. This comment also a highlight the wrong shade used for The Rock.

Several others joked that the statue looked more like Vin Diesel than Dwayne Johnson. Diesel and Johnson are colleagues in the Fast film franchise and have an interesting history.

“That’s Dwayne Diesel,” a comment read, keeping up with the aforementioned angle.

Though they both sport a bald look, Johnson is slightly bigger in size than his 56-year-old co-star. It might have prompted this Facebook user to comment: “Color, Veins, muscle, smile, that’s just Hawaiian vin diesel.” Interestingly, the user also remained mindful of Johnson’s Hawaiian roots from his mother’s side.

“Looks like they started making vin diesel and then remembered it’s supposed to be be the rock 😂,” read another comment.

This wasn’t the first time critics have targeted Dwayne Johnson’s likeness. In fact, he himself trolled one of his wax statues in the past.
