No matter how many times non-wrestling fans throw the word fake when it comes to wrestling, what wrestlers have to bear while battling under the ring is downright dangerous. Case and point, what Bayley underwent during WWE’s live event last night while competing in a four-way match against Charlotte Flair, Asuka, and Bianca Belair.

Concern swept through the WWE fandom when Bayley incurred an injury at a live event in Salisbury, Maryland this weekend. It seemed Bayley hit the mat, clutching her knee, leading the referee to throw the X symbol. WWE higher-ups had to reduce the match time as the 34-year-old had to limp off stage with the help of trainers. It stirred more tension among fans because of her recent history of a torn ACL. However, the Roll Model herself came up with a positive update for the sake of her fans’ delight.

The WWE women’s title match with Asuka defending against Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Bianca Belair reached full swing. Bayley almost gave Asuka a lariat, and she went down. Her leg visibly went out and nobody appeared to touch. She was clearly in severe pain and continued holding the injured spot. The doctor came out immediately after the dreaded X sign was thrown. The injury put a dampener on things, with the match ending in an early finish with Asuka pinning Flair.

Shortly after, a fan who was at the live event shared a video in which Bayley was seen walking out of the arena on her own. Although she was limping, but didn’t need crutches for support. The video itself was a positive indication that inflated after Bayley’s recent Twitter update. In a relaxing update, the former champion posted a photo of her legs elevated with one boot off, and her knee looking like it’s iced and wrapped up. She wrote in the caption, ”I’ll be alright, thanks, everyone.”

While the update soothed fans to some extent, the potential severity of the injury seems to continue raising concern given that Bayley just returned from knee surgery.

The Damage CTRL leader missed a year of her career due to a torn ACL in 2021-22

In mid of 2021, Bayley sustained an injury to her knee during a training session at the WWE Performance Center that saw the SmackDown star sidelined for nine months. The injury was grave as she reportedly broke her ACL and had to undergo surgery afterward. It indeed put a halt in her epic run during the pandemic season and forced her to miss the first SmackDown in front of fans.

However, Bayley bounced back with double enthusiasm upon returning to last summer’s SummerSlam in Nashville, TN. She took her fans by storm by kicking off a new faction, the Damage CTRL, with Dakota Kai and IYO Sky shortly.

Although her faction has been current going through a rough patch since Money in The Bank this year, due to Bayley’s attempt to claim the briefcase for herself by taking down IYO Sky, we need to wait more to see what awaits next the Damage CTRL leader. However, a faction change can also be on the card for Bayley, as she previously indicated. But for now, we want her to be back in the mix in good health at the soonest.
