It seemed like luck had stopped favoring Jeff Hardy when news got out that the former WWE superstar was suffering from a broken jaw. Only a few weeks ago, the star had been written off AEW TV before the promotion headed off to Canada as his past arrest records prevented him from visiting The Maple Country. However, Matt Hardy’s bittersweet health update has fans hoping for the wrestler’s swift return to the squared circle.
Matt Hardy made it clear that his brother was not suffering from a broken jaw, as the initial news suggested. The injury, although still unfortunate, is much less serious in comparison.

Speaking on his podcast, Matt Hardy gave the world an update on his brother’s health condition. He revealed that on the June 21st episode of AEW, Jeff Hardy underwent serious damage to his jaw. The injury came right after the brothers lost to the Gunns. Contrary to initial updates about a broken jaw, Jeff Hardy seems to have dislocated it only.
Matt Hardy said, “The roll of coins, it dislocated his jaw. They thought it might have been broken, but it was dislocated, so it’s only looking like a couple of weeks. So, yeah. It is what it is. It’s pro wrestling. It’s not ballet, as they say.”
It was Juice Robinson of the Bullet Club that hit the former WWE Champion with a roll of quarters, effectively sidelining the ‘The Charismatic Enigma’. However, from what Matt Hardy has said, it seems the wrestler will be back in the squared circle sooner than expected.

Last year, after several reports of intoxication, WWE decided to remove Jeff Hardy from their roster. Soon after, he would follow in the footsteps of his brother and enter AEW. However, he would repeat the same antics after joining Tony Khan’s promotion.
A few months ago, Hardy’s driving license was canceled because of a DUI, and he narrowly escaped jail time. This setback started bringing out the best in him, and he admitted himself into rehab. He stayed in rehab for around 170 days and came back clean and sober.
Hardy was in arguably the best shape of his life before the injury took him out. Fans hope for his swift return and that he will continue to entertain crowds for years to come.
