Hulk Hogan‘s years in the business have left him with multiple stories to share about his work and friends. Many of them are funny, happy and some sad. However, the best comes when it’s about someone close to the Hulkster. One such story was about his former tag team partner.

This former partner formed one of the most memorable tag teams with Hogan. Together, they were one of the best in the WWE, with no signs of stopping them.

In the 80s, no bigger duo existed than Macho Man Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan. Together as the Mega Power, the duo was unstoppable. The charisma and charm the two legends brought to the ring and their promos drove fans wild.

However, despite having great chemistry, the two broke up, and there was real-life tension between the two. As luck would have it, the two once best friends did reunite in real life before Savage’s passing. But what was the one aspect of Savage Hogan did not like?

While on the Chris Van Vliet show, Hogan talked about Savage. The context was how Hogan was never like his on-screen persona. Hogan claimed that he would never have his belts or trophies up on his walls. “I mean one of my favorite people in the world was Randy Savage,” Hogan started with that line.

Hogan added that they patched up their differences and would meet often. He went on to claim that Savage would always be the Macho Man even when away from the ring. Savage would always talk like Macho Man and even behave the same way. “Randy stop! You know but he was like that constantly,” Hogan said.

Why did Hogan and Savage fall apart in real life?

While part of the Mega Powers, the fans noticed something. Savage was very protective of Miss Elizabeth. This was true both in the ring and in real life.

With Hogan and Savage working closely, the Macho Man didn’t approve of Hogan’s closeness with his wife. This drew cracks in their real-life friendship.

Even in WCW, the two reunited for the NWO angle; they were not friends. During his divorce, Savage blamed Hogan and his wife, Linda, for turning Elizabeth against him.
