With the Anoa’i family being one of the most important and legendary families, there exist other wrestlers belonging to the same clan, that upheld its prestige. Names such as Roman Reigns, and Dwayne Johnson became the pole-bearers of the clan, whereas another former WWE superstar also rose to the top.

44-year-old Samoa Joe also belongs to the Samoan heritage and is one of the most dangerous pro wrestlers around. He started his career in the indies and made his way to the top in ROH, TNA, and WWE, before moving to AEW. Recently, a former opponent of Joe and WWE legend heaped praises on him, and the entire clan.

Former WWE champion Kurt Angle recently opened up on his podcast about his feud with Samoa Joe during his time in TNA. Angle heaped praises on Joe, and claimed him to be one of the top guys in the industry.

Samoa Joe is indeed one of the most flexible wrestlers and has one of the most varied move sets. Praising him Angle said, “Joe is so damn good. He really gives you space. You know what? Samoans have been really good at pro wrestling. They all understand they all are incredible athletes.”

He further stated, ” They understand the fear that comes with it. They get it, they all get it. They are all incredible.” Both the wrestlers enjoyed their time in TNA, and would later come back to WWE. While Angle finished his career in WWE, Joe went out to look for other opportunites.

Joe and Angle had one of the most iconic feuds during their time in TNA, and the Olympic gold-medallist became the one to end Joe’s undefeated streak of 172 matches.

What did Kurt Angle opine on ending Samoa Joe’s undefeated streak of 172 matches?

Speaking on the same podcast, Angle would further speak on how he would end Samoa Joe’s undefeated streak and mystique. Joe maintained a massive record of 172-0, similar to that of Goldberg’s 173-0. However, Angle would become the one to stop the Samoan Submission Machine.

Speaking on this Angle said, “I was the first person to beat him in TNA. I think I shouldn’t have been, I think I should have waited but that’s what they wanted that particular time. ” Despite loathing each other on screen, Angle and Joe share a good friendship, and it was evident in Angle’s praises for Joe.
