Wrestling monikers generally end up staying with the wrestlers for the rest of their lives. As in the case of The Undertaker or even Hulk Hogan. Very rarely like Dwayne Johnson do they go back to their original name as that’s how they are known to the world. But that’s exactly what The Bella Twins are planning on doing.
As they are about to turn 40, they feel it’s the right time to switch back to something they are more comfortable with.

The Bella Twins will now be called The Garcia Twins
The Bella Twins were with the WWE from 2008 to 2022. But from 2011 to 2012 they did wrestle on the independent circuit. In their almost 14 years with the brand, they won the prestigious Divas Championship thrice among themselves, once by Brie and twice by Nikki. Nikki was also the longest reigning Divas Champion in WWE history.

But now, after being known by their fans as The Bella Twins for 14 long years, they feel it’s finally time to let go of that name. Going forward, they will call themselves The Garcia Twins, which is their maiden name. On their recent appearance on LIVE with Kelly and Mark they explained how they want to go back to their Italian and Mexican roots as they turn 40 pretty soon.
They said, “When we were wrestlers, the Bella twins, that was our gimmick name. So now that we’re no longer wrestlers when we were retired we’re like ‘Let’s go back to our roots.’ Mexican and Italian. We are entering this new chapter, about to be 40 in November. So we thought you know entering this next decade of our lives, let’s go back to our roots as entrepreneurs and mothers.”

Thus giving their fans a clear hint that they do not plan to return to pro wrestling again but want to focus on family and future business ventures. But why did The Bella Twins leave the WWE in the first place?
The Bella Twins had their own reality show called ‘Total Bellas’
In 2015, Nikki Bella sustained a neck injury that required surgery. As a result, she took a hiatus from in-ring competition, but Brie continued wrestling solo at that time.

The Bella Twins continued making sporadic appearances in the WWE all the way up to 2022 where they participated in the Royal Rumble.
