While that will allow the WWE Universe to watch one of their favorites in action, do you know his career numbers are dismal in the last few years, when it comes to singles matches? April 27, 2018, was the last time Cena had his hands raised by the official. Yes, the last time John Cena won a televised singles match was five years ago, his opponent was Triple H.

Since then, it has been 1,978 days without a singles match win for Cena. That stat was tweeted by X user Two Heads Podcast, who mentioned that the event was the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.

Over the course of the decade, John Cena has transitioned into an actor, who makes appearances on WWE programs from time to time. As is the unwritten norm, every veteran loses after a certain period to put younger wrestlers over and facilitate their rise to stardom.

When Cena was at his peak, Dwayne Johnson lost to him. Johnson was once put over by two-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan during the former’s prime and there are several other examples. Cena himself lost to Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 to fuel the former United States Champions’ push. However, the one argument that fans can make is that Cena’s losing streak has had an extended run and deserves closure now.
