The pro wrestling community was left in shock this Thursday. Around 20 stars were released from WWE’s contract. This list also included the name of popular heel Dolph Ziggler. The WWE veteran joined the promotion back in 2004 and was a good friend of legendary Ric Flair.

Recently, Ric Flair took to social media to react to his friend and other WWE star’s release from the promotion while reprimanding himself for being late in voicing his opinions.

Ric Flair recently posted a photo on his Instagram account. In the photo, The Nature Boy can be seen posing with the 43-year-old star. Captioning the picture, Flair first condemned himself for reacting so late. He said,Shame On Me For Being So Busy That I Haven’t Kept Up With All Of The Releases At @wwe. I Just Hope That Each And Every One Of You Know That At The End Of The Day, We All Love Wrestling, But It’s A Business First And Foremost”, underlining the fact that businesses have an unpredictable nature. He then went on to talk about his own experience. He spoke about how difficult it was for him to walk away from WWE when he retired in 2008.

He then went on to talk about Ziggler. He said, “And As For My Dear Friend, @heelziggler, Who Has Been My Close Friend For 20 Years, You Have Been Nothing Less Than The Best Professional & The Best At Everything You Have Been Called Upon To Do. A Leader, A Champion, And A Man Of Unquestionable Character,” showcasing the special bond the two stars had. He concluded by saying that he wished nothing but good fortunes for the heel after this news. And also that he is waiting to meet him soon.

Dolph Ziggler had a commendable run at WWE. He has made a name for himself as a heel and fans believe that he is too good at being bad. With his release, fans have been wondering what might be next for the star. Even though his brother might have dropped a hint about Ziggler’s possible future, there are a number of opportunities waiting for him.

What’s next for Ziggler?

The doors might be open for him at AEW. His brother Ryan Nemeth is already a rising star at the competing promotion. Following the firing of CM Punk, Tony Khan might enlist Ziggler for his prolific heel persona. Apart from that, Ziggler could be beneficial to both AEW and WWE if he works as a talent scout at either of the promotions. With an experience of almost 20 years and still being in great shape, he can be an excellent guide for young talents to quickly move through the ranks. He has admitted many times that he strives to improve the quality, just like Triple H. Levesque might enlist his help in the future, despite releasing him as a wrestler.

Another possibility for the star is something that not many might know about. The 43-year-old star also happens to be a stand-up comedian. Even though he has tried his hand at both stand-up comedy and acting, he has admitted that stand-up comedy makes him feel better about himself. On the other hand, he has been gaining some traction in the industry as he is now able to get booked for quite a few shows.

As he is now gaining popularity in stand-up comedy, speculations are high that he might take it up full-time. With his abrupt release, Ziggler has nothing but time on his hands. Being a person full of talents, there are a variety of opportunities for him.
