“That whole story is insane,” the 29-year-old said in an interview with MailSport. He recalled receiving the news the night after the Elimination Chamber. While Omos had plans to go back home from the host city, the promotion asked him to stay. “They said it was a backstage with MVP and you guys are going to call out Brock,” he said.

This admittedly took him by surprise. “The moment they said that I just go blank,” he recalled. Omos found it difficult to hear anything thereafter as his mind was occupied with Lesnar.

“They keep talking and I couldn’t hear a word they said. They asked if I was OK, I said, ‘Yes, did you just say Brock Lesnar?’ He said yes. I said, ‘No, THE Brock Lesnar? Woah, OK.’,” he added.

Omos felt he was part of a prank before Brock Lesnar match

It is a huge bonus to have a match with Lesnar. If nothing at all, the opponent is guaranteed a full house almost every time. Lesnar is also one of the top guys in the promotion as an unwritten rule, he generally features in bouts with other top talents. “I thought I was getting ribbed,” he said. However, he soon realized that it was going to be a reality after meeting Lesnar’s long-time friend and close confidant Paul Heyman. “So I go in and get there early and I see Paul Heyman. I say hi, he says Brock is coming and I know it’s real. This is happening,” the 29-year-old added.

This led to interactions and behind-the-scenes work, where Omos admittedly received guidance and assurances from his famed opponent. Ultimately, they met on April 2, the second day of WrestleMania 39. Lesnar squashed Omos in under five minutes to hand him a loss and exposure to a big crowd.
