Seth Rollins’ title match with the former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal came as the cynosure of tonight’s Raw.  While the match set the perfect note for a great Royal Rumble and a greater WrestleMania 40, it left Rollins’ future in doubt.

The WWE World Heavyweight Champion retained his winning streak flushing Mahal out of the world title picture tonight following a lot of back and forth from both sides. But the end segment seemingly saw him in deep pain in his knees.

The match started at a hot pace with both the anti-American wrestler having his dominance over Seth Rollins, thanks to a timely distraction from Priest. The former WWE Champion launched a fatal abdominal stretch on Rollins and buried him in the middle of the ring.

Rollins got back his mojo and hit a pair of springboard dives for another near fall after trading shots for some time. But the second one proved detrimental to his knee. He was visibly in pain following the shot.

What is lying ahead for Seth Rollins after his second title victory of the year? 

WWE kickstarted the year by tipping Rollins against his arch-rival Drew Mclntyre with the World Heavyweight Championship title on line during the Day 1 episode of RAW. Drew McIntyre couldn’t get his hands on the belt that day submitting to Rollins’ formidable defense. Tonight the devastating defeat of the Modern Day Maharaja marked Rollins’ second successful title defense for the year 2024.

Although the Royal Rumble card didn’t include a title match for Rollins so far, we won’t be surprised if we see him coming out from his third successful title defense match from Tropicana Field on January 25.
