The Visionary defeated Damian Priest on the June 5 episode of RAW. The Judgement Day stable member was the first official challenger for Rollins’ title. This enabled The Monday Night Messiah to live up to his name. He now has defended two titles on the red brand.

Rollins, a former WWE Universal Champion, defended his belt against Baron Corbin in a dark match on May 13, 2019. He had won it from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35. By defending the current title, he emulated the feat that was accomplished by Kurt Angle.

In 2000, Angle was the first person to defend two titles- Intercontinental and European championships- on RAW. The Olympic gold medalist is revered for his technical acumen and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. Meanwhile, Rollins outlined his plans for the future as the Heavyweight Champion.

A dozen events in a month: New champion shares his busy schedule

Just days after capturing his current title, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins had spoken about the responsibilities of a champion. In a direct dig at Roman Reigns, he denounced the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for handpicking his opponents. While urging his former Shield mate to open up, he promised to adhere to certain norms.

The 37-year-old said he wants to raise the scene and invited challenges from wrestlers, irrespective of their brands. While Rollins currently occupies the throne at RAW, wrestlers from SmackDown can challenge him as well, without prior notice. The belt holder will have to defend it without fail, according to the stipulation.

Going a step ahead, the superstar has also invited wrestlers from the NXT brand to challenge him for the title. But that won’t be necessary for now, as the wrestler has his plate full. According to a schedule shared by him, Seth Rollins will feature in 12 events alone in June. He has already had two title defenses so far, including a challenge from The Miz in White Plains.

Meanwhile, Rollins met his next challenger on RAW itself. It is none other than Priest’s stablemate Finn Balor. The Irish wrestler almost cost the champion his match but failed in the end. Now he has the opportunity to get the belt for himself.
