WWE Universe was left shocked when former WWE stars Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of the company during the May 16th episode of Raw, last year. WWE reportedly suspended them and both the stars have gone in different directions since then.

Sasha Banks continues to shine brighter following her NPJW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 earlier this year. Currently known as Mercedes Mone, she clinched the coveted IGPW Championship, defeating Kairi in her very first match in the NPJW’s ring.

Naomi’s next stop can be elsewhere except NPJW

But her tag teammate Trinity Fatu’s (FKA Naomi) next move was unknown until a recent report says NPJW & Stardom’s parent company Bushiroad had eyes for her. But they still didn’t sign her due to financial reasons.

In the latest report of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted, ‘Bushiroad (NJPW & STARDOM) wrestling division is under pressure to keep spending down.

They were told they could bring in Trinity Fatu (FKA Naomi), but it was felt it would cost too much for the return, and thus far hadn’t made that deal.’

It looks like Mercedes Mone’s recent big-budget deal with Stardom possibly brought more trouble for her former tag team partner.

However, given that Mone is only one match away from her contract expiration with the Japanese wrestling promotion, there were wide rumors regarding her future destination. It has been known that he is currently negotiating with NPJW to further her contract. But if the promotion is tonning down on the money being spent, one wonder what holds next for her as well.

Mercedes Mone is indirectly related to Naomi’s lost opportunity at NPJW

Mone made a surprise debut to this week. She attacked Mayu Iwatani, who stood against her during All Star Grand Queendom a few days ago. The current NPJW champion definitely charged a fairly handsome amount as part of the contract money. While the amount is still unknown, it’s not difficult to understand that she would’ve commanded a substantial amount.

So, the financial crunch that Bushiroad is currently undergoing has some passive contribution to Mercedes Mone’s high-value contract. This could’ve played a role in NJPW perhaps not being able to currently afford Naomi on a contract basis yet.

She is still a free agent  and yet to pen a contract with another promotion. That promotion could be NPJW if some budget-cut measures didn’t get in the way and prove a major setback for her.
