Rumors about a match between The Rock and his cousin Roman Reigns started spreading after Reigns’ Tribal Chief gimmick, came to full effect through The Bloodline. However, due to The Rock’s extremely busy schedule plans of the match were called off as Cody Rhodes faced Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 Main Event.
Speculations are that Rhodes might face Reigns again for a repeat of their WrestleMania match. But with The Rock’s recent interview, it seems The American Nightmare will have to wait to complete his story.
Dwayne Johnson declares himself available for WrestleMania

An update was revealed on September 15th, regarding the status of a highly anticipated bout between Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns. On the Pat McAfee Show in Colorado, The Rock teased the idea of a match with Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 40 next year.
“There’s WrestleMania in Philadelphia” — I’m open”. ‘The fans deserve something incredible & unprecedented.’” This may come as a blow to Cody Rhodes and his fans who believe The American Nightmare should be the one to take the title from Reigns.

Earlier in the interview The Rock admitted that him taking on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles was “locked in” but the plans didn’t materialize.
