The Bloodline has dominated WWE programming in recent history. The stable comprising Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso , Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman, has been raking in the big numbers for the company, making them a recurring topic. Be it WrestleMania 39, Night of Champion, Money In The Bank or the recently concluded SummerSlam, The Bloodline has been given preferences. This is evident from the posters launched by the WWE for these premium live events (PLEs). But the company has finally broken the ongoing tradition.

Unhappy with it, a WWE legend has urged the promotion to rethink. He also put forward his suggestion on social media.

WWE has recently released the poster of Payback, their upcoming PLE. The event is scheduled to take place at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 2. In a change, The Bloodline didn’t feature on the official poster. The group was replaced by The Judgment Day.

The four members of the heel faction- Finn Balor, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest were the faces who covered the Payback poster. This didn’t go down well with Rikishi.

The Samoan pro wrestling legend, who is the father of Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa, and the cousin of Roman Reigns, took offense at the WWE leaving his family out.

The 57-year-old edited the poster, replacing it with the faces of Bloodline members, and captioned it: “Run it 🩸”. The WWE has had great success with The Bloodline stable and its storyline in recent times. Apart from continuously topping social media charts, they have also contributed to ticket and merchandise sales.

And while it’s baffling for some, here are possible reasons the WWE did what they did with the poster.

Why did WWE favor The Judgment Day, leave aside Bloodline?

As stated above, The Bloodline has been consistently main eventing the PLEs. Starting WrestleMania 39, they have main-evented all the PLEs, till SummerSlam. The stars need a break.

Pro wrestling is also about storytelling. A good story needs time. With The Bloodline being in successive premium live events, they are being over-utilized to an extent, which is taking a hit on the storyline. Several people, including industry experts, have lashed out at the Bloodline’s performance at the last PLE.

Roman Reigns has not been advertised in the coming WWE events, which means the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion will likely head for a break. On the recent episode of SmackDown, Jey Uso used his superkick to lay waste to the other members of the stable, barring Paul Heyman. Uso said he’s out of the Bloodline, SmackDown and WWE before leaving the arena.

This means the promotion is giving the stars a breather and thus they used The Judgment Day on the poster, which, as a group, has been on the rise.

But Finn Balor and Co. has their job cut out for them. While the WWE is yet to declare the match cards, it is expected that the stable will feature in the main event, which has been a dominant area of Bloodline. The RAW stars will have to pull numbers like their SmackDown counterparts.
