Roman Reigns’ Wiseman Takes Shots at Cody Rhodes’ In-Ring Ability, Despite Putting a 5-Star Match 416 Days Ago

Being a “Paul Heyman Guy/Gal” in the wrestling industry is considered an expression of pride. Heyman has helped produce some of the greatest talents in the business. While Heyman earns a spot at the top of the Mount Rushmore of managers, Cody Rhodes recently stated otherwise. The WWE star revealed that he does not view him as the best manager, much to the annoyance of Heyman. 

Heyman’s recent tweet destroyed Rhodes, who believes Bobby “The Brain” Heenan is the best manager in WWE history. The Wiseman stated that he doesn’t think much of Cody Rhodes’ wrestling skills. 

Paul Heyman fires back at Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return at WrestleMania 38, taking on Seth Rollins. The duo faced off two more times after WrestleMania 38, with their match at Hell in a Cell garnering five stars. Despite suffering from a grave pectoral injury in the weight room ahead of his match, Rhodes defied the odds and delivered the match of the year. 

However, Paul Heyman does not seem impressed by Cody Rhodes’ accomplishments. Heyman revealed his opinion of Rhodes after the latter told Sports Illustrated that Paul Heyman was not the most revered manager in the WWE. In response, Heyman called Rhodes the fourth greatest talent in his family. He said, “I respect the opinion of @CodyRhodes, the fourth greatest performer in his family’s magnificent history, only behind Dusty, Dustin and @TheBrandiRhodes! THE WISEMAN COMETH! ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR TRIBAL CHIEF!”

While Cody Rhodes could be right about Bobby Heenan being one of the greatest managers in wrestling, Heyman’s influence on stars like Brock Lesnar, Rob Van Dam, CM Punk, and many others cannot be impugned. It would be a travesty not to consider Heyman on the top five list of the best managers in WWE history. Nonetheless, Cody Rhodes further expressed the fact that he has the highest level of respect for Heyman.

Paul Heyman has worked very closely with Cody Rhodes’ father, The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. During a promo on Raw, The American Nightmare revealed how Paul Heyman helped Dusty Rhodes in dire straits.

Ahead of WrestleMania 39, Cody Rhodes was involved in a segment with Paul Heyman before he met Roman Reigns one-on-one. During the segment, Cody Rhodes rehashed the hard times his family went through back in 2000. 

Rhodes relayed that Dusty Rhodes was strapped for money at one point in time. Additionally, he was doing local car commercials just to keep his car, not for the money. But Heyman reached out to him with an offer that put food on the table for Dusty Rhodes and his family.

Not only did Heyman pay Dusty Rhodes well for his appearance on ECW but he also helped Rhodes get his “confidence”. Cody Rhodes then thanked a teary-eyed Heyman before the promo took a personal turn.
