There have been a lot of eyes fixed on the recently passed Crown Jewel PLE emanating from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. For WWE’s growing partnership with the Middle Eastern country, both parties put in blood, sweat, and tears to make the event as grand as anyone could envision.

Along with that line, a stacked-up match card comprising Roman Reigns, John Cena, Seth Rollins, and other bigwigs marked its prestige. They turned up and did their part to propel the show according to expectations. That said, it seems like they couldn’t reach that point fully.

Although just like any other regular PLE, Crown Jewel brought some spectacular hooks and finishes to the table, it failed to quench fans’ thirst. Some bizarre choices put the PLE under scrutiny from wrestling fans. Some of the promotions’ questionable choices include an underwhelming John Cena vs Solo Sikoa encounter, a vague fate for Rhea Ripley, etc.

Now, the latest data revealed, Crown Jewel 2023 has been voted the worst WWE PLE of the year.

While the record definitely faded the glory of a few breathtaking highlights of the match, the ultimate judgment is up to the fans after all, no matter what.

A few wasted moments from Crown Jewel 2023: Explained

As mentioned earlier, a John Cena vs Solo Sikoa segment wasn’t delivered up to the expectation. Also, Damian Priest’s poor attempts to cash in went utterly wrong. When Seth Rollins was at peace knocking down McIntyre, out of nowhere, the Archer of the Infamy appeared and tried to get away with his title. Thanks to Sami Zayn for making the save. However, this segment was apparently futile and perhaps has been added to cut time.

Fans who were expecting Sami Zayn to have a match like last year were disappointed. Despite delivering a splendid showdown at the Crown Jewel kickoff, Zayn wasn’t used in the event.
