The latest edition of SmackDown delivered big time. While the crowd went ballistic seeing Dwayne Johnson make his comeback to WWE after 4 years, fans also caught a glimpse of superstar John Cena closing the show with major momentum. While the two veterans stole the show, fans now speculate to have seen the biggest star of the current generation, Roman Reigns, play an important role as well. 

Although Cena may have stolen the show at SmackDown, it was not an easy night for him. As the events unfolded, it is possible many fans didn’t pay much attention to a small detail that shows Roman Reigns’ involvement in the way the night went down.

Roman Reigns plays a secret role on SmackDown?

After WWE announced last week that Cena would be the guest host for the Grayson Waller Effect, fans couldn’t contain their excitement. This is due to the fact that Cena laid out Waller at the Money in the Bank PLE a few months back with an Attitude Adjustment, much to the delight of the crowd in London.

With a point to prove, Waller chided Cena on several occasions and even accused him of stealing the spotlight. As the promo picked up intensity, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa interrupted Cena in quick succession. Sikoa later laid out Cena, but AJ Styles made an appearance to aid Cena and try to even the odds.

But it’s the closing moments of the show that captured the attention of many. As Cena was about to deliver the AA, fans saw Heyman mouthing off to Sikoa to “save Jimmy”. 

Though it doesn’t explicitly answer who Heyman was talking to, it’s clear that Heyman only follows orders from his Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. While it does leave a few questions unanswered, it was clear that Reigns had his eye on what was going on at SmackDown.

Dwayne Johnson is back!

After staying away from WWE for 4 years, Johnson made a surprising return to WWE. Fans at Denver exploded as DJ laid the SmackDown on Austin Theory with his trademark, People’s Elbow.

The one-off moment in the ring was enough to melt fans, but they got the cherry on the cake when The Rock embraced his old rival Cena backstage, resulting in a very wholesome moment for the fans.

With Johnson making it clear that he is open to WrestleMania, one wonders if he is going to be a regular feature for an eventual showdown with Reigns. Fans certainly hope so.
