The situation between Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Cody Rhodes with The Bloodline is reaching a boiling point ahead of WrestleMania 40. Rhodes announced he would be facing Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal title and to finish his story. Johnson slapped Rhodes at the WrestleMania XL Kickoff show to initiate his heel turn. Both men announced that they wouldn’t let anything get in the way of their goals. But why does one WWE legend insist that Rhodes does not launch a verbal war against Johnson during this feud?

Bully Ray claims that Dwayne Johnson will destroy Cody Rhodes on the mic

Bully Ray, or Bubba Ray Dudley, has been around the wrestling business for a long time. Not only was he part of the Attitude Era, but he also shared the ring with wrestlers, now considered veterans. Among them is The Rock. Ray talked about the ongoing Rhodes and Johnson feud while on his Busted Open Podcast with Dave LaGreca and Tommy Dreamer. Ray said, “The last thing Cody should do is try to match The Rock on the mic. It’s not happening. Rocky will absolutely destroy Cody on the mic.”

It is a known fact in the WWE that Johnson is one of the most gifted individuals when it comes to mic work. Thanks to his impressive mic skills, he won over the crowds throughout his original heel run, despite being the bad guy. If spitting fire was an art, Johnson is the artist.

Ray continued, “It’s not that Cody is not good on the mic; it’s just that it is The Rock, and he’s superior.” This just goes to show how much respect Ray has for Johnson and his craft. Many WWE stars have cited Johnson as one of the best mic workers in the WWE. Rey mentioned that only John Cena and CM Punk could reach The Rock’s standards, but Rhodes cannot match his peers.

The wrestling legend explained how the former AEW star can emerge supreme in a verbal affair if he manages to follow Ray’s blueprint

How Rhodes can enjoy a brief respite on the mic against The Rock?

Bully Ray did explain how Rhodes could get the upper hand over Johnson. He explained, “I can beat you, I can pin you, and for three seconds, I’ll be damned if I can’t be better than you.” This is all The American Nightmare needs to say, and the fans will go crazy for it, according to Ray.

The angle that the pro wrestling legend has outlined means that Cody Rhodes need not try one up The Rock with witty comebacks and retorts, Instead, Rhodes needs to be humble and honest, and fans will love it as it comes straight from the heart. That is the only way outside of the match Rhodes can stand a chance against Johnson.
