Rhea Ripley Pays a Fitting Tribute to a Deceased WWE Legend at Payback

There is one athlete who has been at the top of the wrestling food chain in her division for quite some time now. We are talking about ‘The Eradicator’ Rhea Ripley. She has terrorized not just female athletes in the WWE, but her male counterparts as well. And at Payback last night, she gave her due respect to another female wrestling legend who paved the way for future stars like her.

Ripley has she had multiple challengers who have tried to snatch the title from her but to no avail. Her latest opponent was Raquel Rodriguez who although put up a tough fight, was eventually defeated by a Riptide after getting distracted by ‘Dirty’ Dom whom she brutally power slammed. But the bout was so intense, that Ripley’s nose ring got ripped off in the process by Rodriguez.

But apart from Ripley’s in-ring brute force last night, it was her gear that caught the attention of most fans. The gear she wore was exactly similar to the one that late wrestling legend Chyna used to wear during the Attitude Era. A social media user was quick to point out that Ripley’s gear was similar to that of WWE legend Chyna.

Ripley knows very well that she has been compared to Chyna right from day one and she absolutely loves that.

Rhea Ripley respects Chyna a lot

‘The Ninth Wonder Of The World’ Chyna was way ahead of her time in the Attitude Era. She was breaking barriers for women’s wrestling and laying down the very foundation like no other.

She is also the only woman in WWE’s entire history to ever win the Intercontinental Championship. She helped the D-Generation X rise to the top, just like Ripley is doing for The Judgement Day right now.

Ripley even commented that it’s very flattering to be compared to such a strong woman. But she also wants to be known for her own accomplishments by future generations.
