To say Rhea Ripley is among the most popular WWE women would be an understatement. With many accolades under her belt in 2023 and the love and admiration from fans, she is undoubtedly the next big thing. To prove this point even further, she was able to dethrone the iconic Four Horsewomen of the WWE and start a new era.

Ripley recently celebrated ranking #1 in all of women’s wrestling, and fans pointed out another hidden victory for the Women’s World Champion.

The Four Horsewomen of the WWE is a team consisting of Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks. Formed in NXT, this was a nod to the UFC’s Four Horsewomen and the WWE’s original lineup in the 1980s. The original lineup of the Four Horsemen included Flair’s father, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, and Tully Blanchard.

For over a decade, the Four Horsewomen have appeared in the PWI annual women’s ranking list. This list ranks the women in professional wrestling from all promotions. However, for the first time, none of them appeared to make the list, even in the top #10.

Fans of Ripley know that she is breaking records and boundaries, but no one could’ve expected this. While Ripley sits at #1, none of the other women appear in the top 10. Many consider this to be a disappointment for these iconic women.

While Lynch is preparing to defend her title, Flair is ready to face off against Jade Cargill. Bayley is currently the leader of Damage CTRL, while Banks left the company and joined New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). On the other hand, Ripley had a very successful 2023, winning the Women’s Royal Rumble and the Women’s title from Flair. However, a similar face could be returning to put an end to the Judgment Day member’s reign of dominance.

Sasha Banks could return to the WWE

In the most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, pro wrestling icon Dave Meltzer mentioned that Sasha Banks could be returning to the WWE. With Triple H in control of the talent and being the creative head, the WWE has seen much change. One major reason Banks left the WWE was her creative differences with Vince McMahon. This all could change now that Hunter is involved at the helm.

Many have claimed that she was over-hyped and overrated despite being over with the fans. Once the news broke of a possible return, fans took to social media to show their disinterest in the idea. Many claim that Banks had her chance, and now it’s time for new talent to shine in the spotlight.
