On October 25th, it was revealed that WWE legend Ric Flair had joined the ship of superstars jumping from WWE to AEW. While the Dynamite show indicated Flair’s presence, more inside reports suggest that he will be paid uniquely by Tony Khan.

Ric Flair can go crazy for money, at times putting his body at risk to wrestle for a big paycheck. But this time, an unusual source will get him paid without putting his body on the line.

Ric Flair finds a new source of income with AEW

Fightful Wrestling posted a picture of Ric Flair in the AEW ring on Nov 2nd with the caption, “We’ve heard from sources near Ric Flair that the partnership with Woooo! Energy will pay for a significant portion of Flair’s AEW salary if not all of it.

Woo Energy drink is one of Flair’s business ideas that derives its name from the catchphrase he used during his wrestling days. It is available at Giant Eagle stores in select markets and is also the official drink of the Cleveland Cavaliers, a basketball team, and the Columbus Blue Jackets, an ice hockey team.

With the deal signed with Ric Flair, Tony Khan agreed to make Woooo! Energy, the exclusive energy drink of AEW. It will be available at shows, select host venues, concession stands, locker rooms, and announcers’ desks during broadcasts.

In an interview with Variety, Ric Flair revealed his conversation with Tony Khan. He said, “I just reached out to Tony. Then Tony got back to me and he said he’d be interested in that. And I wasn’t selling myself. I was just selling energy drinks…And then Tony was thinking about Sting’s retirement and asked if I wanted to be a part of it.

Fightful Select reported that Ric Flair’s Woo energy drink would help pay a significant portion of The Nature Boy’s salary. Flair spoke to Tony Khan before making his highly anticipated debut at AEW on October 25th.

Ric Flair shows at AEW Dynamite at Sting’s special moment

A couple of weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, the icon, Sting announced his shocking retirement from pro wrestling. He revealed that he would have his last match at AEW Revolution in March 2024 before Tony Khan announced a special retirement gift for Sting.

During the on-stage segment, he took the names of Wrestling legends like Scott Steiner, Lex Luger, and Hulk Hogan. But the presence of Ric Flair indicates that the two icons may face each other to recreate their iconic match from Clash of the Champions in 1988.
