WWE superstar Randy Orton is one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time. The Viper’s legacy is unmatched, and over the years he has proven himself to be one of the best pro wrestlers in the company. However, last year, Orton went on a hiatus to surgically repair his injured back.
However, recent rumors have started floating of Orton planning to make his comeback soon. The Viper has been out for around a year now. He went on a hiatus in May last year requiring back fusion surgery. His surgery brought rumors of him retiring as well. Although, such reports might not be the case.

His fans can now be delighted to know that, The Viper might not be retiring and is due for a comeback soon. Dave Meltzer reported that Orton is on his way back even though he was on the verge of retiring.PWInsider also reported that Orton is rumored to be at WrestleMania 39, and this might be a sign of his comeback date nearing.
A report last month stated Orton making new in-ring boots, while Fightful Select also reported on his return. Fightful Select claimed, “There were some in WWE that told us they’d be fortunate to have him back after such a long career and the significance of the injury.” Although injured, Orton was adamant about returning to the ring. Although his return date is not confirmed, fans are expecting it to happen either at WrestleMania 39, or on the RAW after that.
The WWE has lined up a familiar potential opponent for The Viper upon his comeback.
Is Randy Orton going to feud with Cody Rhodes upon his return to WWE?
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton share a troublesome history. While the two were together during their Legacy days, they would eventually fall apart and have a bitter rivalry. Ever since his debut in 2002, Orton has been one of the most consistent performers.
He has exceptional mic and in-ring skills and has proven himself to be an asset. Orton can play any role to perfection be it, heel or face. Prior to his break, he would elevate Matt Riddle. It is rumored that Orton’s contract lasts till 2024 and there is plenty of time for one more push.

Fans are now expecting Orton to return after ‘Mania and go on a feud with his former legacy stablemate, Cody Rhodes. If Reigns’ rumored break occurs, Orton would be the best fit to elevate Rhodes.
