Hollywood is finally preparing to get back to normalcy. Since April, the world’s biggest movie industry was left hamstrung as several unions held protests and strikes demanding better pay. After the Writers Guild of America managed to negotiate a tentative three-year agreement with The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on September 24, the strike was called off after 146 days.

This means, studios will get busy again, as there is a lot that has compiled over the last few months, due to the agitation. According to Variety, Universal Pictures, the production and distribution company that is working with the franchise, is set to “get a new draft of “Fast X: Part 2.”

The film is set for release on April 4, 2025. So far, three other movies have also been slated to release in April of that year. They are Minecraft- on April 3, an untitled Disney movie- on April 11, and The Exorcist: Deceiver, to be released four days later.

But before his film clashes with the other releases, Johnson is likely to enthrall the Fast faithful with another offering.

Is Dwayne Johnson set for another spin-off of Hobbs and Shaw film?

Yes, The Great One will team up with Jason Statham, who plays Deckard Shaw, and take on Dante Reyes, the main antagonist of Fast X.

This announcement was made by Johnson himself, whose tweet on June 1 read: “The next Fast & Furious film you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FASTX: Part II”

According to reports, the film is yet to receive an official title, and is currently working with Fast X.5. Reyes- played by Jason Momoa– has a history with Johnson’s Hobbs. The iconic lawman had killed Hernan Reyes, Dante’s father, in Fast Five.

The spinoff, as stated by Johnson, will see the two lock horns and set up the scene for Fast X: Part Two. Fans can expect a mega clash when they butt heads on screen.
