For 18 months, Randy Orton had ups and downs, but now he’s finally back in the WWE ring. Orton had back problems and needed surgery, due to which he was on hiatus throughout 2022, and most of 2023. He talked to several doctors and neurosurgeons who told him to start getting ready for life outside the squared circle.

However, The Viper is back and he will be in this year’s Elimination Chamber match on Saturday in Perth, Australia. Consequently, WrestleMania 40 is going to take place, in which, Orton has backed Cody Rhodes over The Rock, as per sources in his upcoming battle at WrestleMania.

The American Nightmare has made it his mission to reach the top of the WWE and finish his story. While on the Road to WrestleMania, Rhodes has garnered support from several wrestlers, with Randy Orton now added to that list.

As we speak, Cody Rhodes is making his way to WrestleMania 40 to the main event title fight against Roman Reigns, The Tribal Chief. However, Reigns’ Bloodline grew stronger after The Rock joined the stable, promising to make sure Rhodes leaves Mania empty-handed.

The American Nightmare won the Royal Rumble match last year by coming in at number thirty. He tried to beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 but failed. Cody Rhodes came in at number 15 this year and won the Rumble yet again. As per the sources, New York Post, it’s come to light that Orton has chosen to support Cody Rhodes over The Rock for WrestleMania.

He said, “Seeing those fans, the ‘Cody Crybabies’ as Rock calls them, seeing the fans be so vocal for a Cody Rhodes, Cody’s heart and him finishing the story — and that story’s important,” Orton said. “And I think because it’s so important to Cody, it’s important to those fans. And it’s pretty f*****g cool to see that to a lot of these fans, Cody’s story is more important than the biggest star in the world. That’s pretty cool.”

Orton went on to say that he wants to see Rhodes to beat Reigns and win the bout. “I also understand the business side of it, too. And I don’t think there’s any bigger match Rock would be involved in, just when you are talking business. But if I had to choose, I’d want to see Cody beat Roman Reigns and win that title at WrestleMania 40,” he said.
