John Cena gave a clue concerning the future of LA Knight at Payback

While there are a plethora of hints that can be noticed in the latest buzz, one of the major was from this year’s PLE Payback. The event was hosted by the WWE great himself, John Cena. In fact, in that very event, Cena got a chance to become a special guest referee for a match that featured ‘The Megastar’ against The Miz. But why did Cena become a guest referee for that match? All because of a mere interruption from The Miz while Cena had a promo. Miz then intended to spread wisdom on how to host the show; after this, the 46-year-old announced himself as a referee for that bout.

Indeed, the match showcased 15 minutes of sure-shot entertainment. The Miz received a power slam from LA Knight in the final moments of the contest. The tussle persisted until the 40-year-old caught Miz in a string of power slams, a leaping elbow drop, and the BFT to secure the victory.

After an intense showdown, Cena, as he is known, tried to pay homage to Knight, as he intended to shake his hand on the stage. However, Knight, with a cryptic expression, stared him down but eventually shook hands with The Leader of Cenation. Finally, adding a cherry on top, the 16-time world champion raised the hand of LA Knight, signaling a passing of the torch moment. Well, this was kind of expected, since Cena even discussed why the charisma of LA Knight was special in an exclusive WWE interview before Payback.

John Cena and LA Knight prevailed over The Bloodline together

After the grand return of John Cena from the film industry, the fans wanted to witness an intriguing storyline that could do justice to his current run. The veteran then broke the ice as he indulged in a feud with The Bloodline. However, to do that, Cena was in search of a partner, since AJ Styles, who was initially supposed to join hands with the veteran, witnessed a vicious assault at the hands of brothers Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.

That was the point when the fans were eager to get the scoop on Cena’s prospective partner for Fastlane. Moreover, it was LA Knight who came to the rescue of the 46-year-old and gave the fans what they actually expected. Both went on to indulge in a kayfabe with Jimmy and Solo, eventually settling the dispute at Fastlane. However, it was LA Knight who finished the job with a BFT.

Throughout Cena’s run so far, the fans have been showering love and praise on both superstars. And one of the scenarios was when LA Knight and Cena engaged in a heartfelt moment, winning the hearts of many. Reminiscent of Payback, Cena tried to raise Knight’s hand, but not letting his partner do that, Knight himself took the initiative as he raised the hand of the veteran as a sign of respect.

This might be another clue that could suggest that LA Knight might be on the right track to reach the main event status. Now that, Roman Reigns is announced for this week’s SmackDown, it will be gripping to investigate what goes on for LA Knight in the future.

LA Knight surpassed John Cena to achieve this feat
